I Can't Believe These Hyper Real Pictures Are Completely CG And Not Real

I can't believe these hyper real pictures are completely CG and not real

David O'Reilly and Kim Laughton curate a wonderful head innards shaking website, Hyper Real CG, that shows a collection of pictures that look completely real but are actually just hyper real 3D art made from CG. It's really crazy how close to real life we can get with art.

Here are some especially good ones. You can find more of the collection here. You can also find more at their Instagram account.

At least one of these isn't CGI, a reverse image search revealed that that garden scene is a photo of the Berkshire Botanical Garden. I'm also pretty sure that the fur rug and the reflective sculpture are real. I know the face is CGI though, and I'm pretty sure the fire hydrant is.

If the top one is real, then the photographer has been shopped out. It's much more likely that it is CG. That sculpture would be a prick to keep that reflective.

You're right, I looked again and it turns out I made a mistake with that one. The garden at least is definitely a photo though.

        The sculpture is legit http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cloud_Gate
Whether the photo is untouched or not though is a separate issue

With regards to the top pic, I'm pretty sure I've seen that sculpture in Chicago a few years back. The skyline looks familiar as we'll

In fact going through the old photos on my phone I definitely saw this sculpture back in 2011 in Chicago

    I can't believe it's not butter.

Someone really needs to do a cgi of that. That way i couldn't believe it's not i can't believe it's not butter.

      Butterception.

        Butterception.

You're implanting the idea of CGI into the butter's mind?

See, you can't even tell if it's butter! We're three butters deep, man.

    none are CG.

When we had quite good CGI a decade ago why is this news now in the age of photoreal pencil and pen artists.....

Not a damn one of those are real. Are you feeling OK Casey? Take some fun stuff lately?

All fun aside, seriously, did you try to research this first? See if they can produce you a wire frame and lets have them prove it.

I'd really love to see a wire frame of that first one, especially with all the buildings being wire-framed. You know it's a real place, it's called the Cloud Gate in Chicago.

Why CG something that already exists and in such bad quality? Noise and all..?

Just because this was really irresponsible journalism I feel like I have to reply. These guys are jokesters...look up anything about David O'Reilly and you'll realize he is a 3D artist that makes many satirical commentaries on the state of the industry using social media etc. That entire instagram account is just a series of stock photos.
