This Twitter Bot Creates Beautifully Abstract Images Out Of Your Tweets

You should tweet Lowpoly Bot a picture. Because when you do, you’ll get a wonderfully abstracted version sent right back to you.

Created by artist Mario Klingemann, the Twitter bot uses algorithms to automatically convert photos into polygonal images. They’re beautiful, and anyone can use the service — as long as you don’t mind waiting in line a little for the algorithm to work its magic.

There are fairly detailed instruction on the Lowpoly Bot Tumblr, but the process is pretty simple: send a tweet to @Lowpolybot with an embedded image and wait. You can also include some hastags to tweak the result:

Style: #triangle, #voronoi, #subdivision, #iso, #rect, #square, #kite, #angles, #broken or #minimal

Fill: #flat, #gradient, #soft, #strong, #burst, #dial, #flow, #uni or #perp

Texture: #grain, #nograin or #raster

Strokes: #fat or #thin and #black or #white

Colour: #colorize, #randomcolor, #spectra, #gram and #overdrive

Surprise: #flip, #shuffle and #eleven

Go on, try it. It’s super fun, and you’ll get a nice surprise out of it, too. [Lowpoly Bot via Laughing Squid]
