The Thinkpad X1 Carbon, still one of the slickest ultrabooks out there, got a refresh last year that took replaced its row of function keys with an adaptive, touchscreen strip. This year, there’s good news for button-fans everywhere: The keys are back.
Apparently touch-typists everywhere were clamouring for their friendly little function keys back, so the new X1 Carbon has ’em. On top of that, it also has some physical mouse buttons sitting atop its touchpad. All that’s on top of the more standard upgrades, namely your choice of 5th generation Intel Core i processors.
Otherwise the X1 Carbon is staying slick and handsome just the way we like it, and the new button-happy version goes on sale this January for a starting price of $US1,250 for our Amerifriends. But, you guessed it: it has a healthy dose of Australia Tax for our market. Prices in Australia start at $2199.
