Video: Created from hundreds of photos captured by a digital SLR with a tilt-shift wide-angle lens, this video of annual Australia Day ferry race makes the vessels look like part of a children’s toy set — except for that massive 30,000-ton Navy carrier.
The star of the Australia Day festivities on the harbour yesterday was the new HMAS Canberra (III), the first of two landing helicopter dock ships being built for the RAN and the largest ship ever operated by Australia’s seafaring military. It’s called the ferry race for a reason, though, so you’ll see the famous First Fleet in the colours of their sponsors.
