Here we have the latest trailer for Neill Blomkamp’s AI flick,Chappie, which follows the travails of a teen robot learning How To Be. And even though the kind young bot we’ve seen in the last few trailers looks harmless, the preview shows a world where people just don’t know what to do with thinking, feeling artificial intelligence.
The upcoming sci-fi film comes to us from Blomkamp, who also directed District 9 and Elysium. Chappie is an experimental robot built and taught to feel feelings by a scientist called Deon (Dev Patel). Although Deon has the best of intentions, a gang that includes a pair played by Ninja and Yolandi from Die Antwoord — so you know they’re bad and weird and up to something — kidnaps Chappie and leaves him standing at a fork in the road of life between good and evil. The movie hits Australian cinemas on March 12. [Yahoo via Ain’t It Cool]
