The Nexus 6 Sold Out In Australia Within Hours

It seems that a high price tag is no deterrent for folks looking to pick up the new, super-sized Google Nexus 6: the damn thing sold out in a little over an hour this morning on the Australian Google Play store.

The folks over at Ausdroid initially spotted the 32GB Nexus 6 for sale on the Australian Google Play store this morning, for the slightly eye-watering price of $869.

It was on for young and old at that point, as the devices ran out the door until Google had exhausted its inventory for the land Down Under.

Those who were lucky enough to get themselves a Nexus 6 can expect shipping within the next month. No showing off a new phone at the Christmas dinner table for you.

“Check back soon,” Google now encourages would-be shoppers looking for the 32GB Nexus 6.

Before the device sold out, however, Google indicated on the store that it would also be selling the device in JB Hi-Fi stores shortly, so there’s still hope of getting one in the near future for those of you who want to look for it.

The 64GB Nexus 6 is still listed as “Coming Soon”. [Nexus]
