This Man Rode A Rocket Bicycle 207 MPH

When you think of fast rides, bicycles usually don’t spring to mind, at least not before souped-up race cars and sleek motorcycles. Watching Francois Gissy speed over 207 miles per hour on a bicycle with a rocket strapped to it may change that.

Gissy rode the bike at the Circuit Paul Ricard in the south of France last Friday, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he has a serious case of windburn now. Gissy has been riding these stripped down and powered up bikes for years, and this time he’s broken his own record. Swiss company Exotic Thermal Engineering builds the rockets Gissy uses to propel his bike.

It took Gissy less than 5 seconds to go from 0 to 207 miles per hour. This is the world record for fastest biking, which isn’t super surprising considering the whole rocket thing. Impressive nevertheless.
