Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre Now Lets You Stream Its Performances

Feeling cultured? Now, you can stream and download performances from London’s Globe Theatre, and watch Shakespeare performed in a (pretty much) original setting.

You can rent the videos for a week for around $US6 a pop, streaming the (recorded) performances in the comfort of your own home. Or you can buy and download them for good, for around $US13, and play them on most mobile devices.

The catalogue is still a little thin, but there’s some good stuff in there; the version of Twelfth Night, in particular, is very much worth a watch. Also, it’s worth noting that if you’re ever in London, standing tickets at the globe are actually quite cheap — and it’s a pretty wonderful experience that you’ll never forget.
