Here’s one of those ads that make you go, “those damn consumerism pimping bastards actually came up with an annoyingly clever idea.” Volkswagen outfitted bumper cars with its City Emergency Brake technology so that when you try and bump another car, the ultrasonic sensors would force the bumper car to brake and stop itself.
We installed City Emergency Brake technology on a bumper car at Tusenfryd, Norway´s biggest amusement park. The bumper was equipped with ultrasonic sensors and stopped every time it was to close to another car. The people´s reactions were filmed and became a TV commercial.
As it goes with most ads, who knows if these folks are real bystanders or paid actors.
