Following millions of user requests, Plex is finally launching Plex for Xbox. The popular media-streaming app is already available on a wide variety of platforms, it will soon be the easiest way to blast local (and pirated) content from your laptop or elsewhere onto your Xbox. The catch is that Plex costs $US5 per month (or $US50 per year or $US150 per lifetime).
An update to the Xbox One that will let you stream local video via DLNA or USB is coming soon, but Plex is coming sooner. Plex for Xbox One hits on Tuesday, and the company says the app will be available for Xbox 360 “soon”. When it does arrive, you’ll be able to browse your entire video and music libraries in one place. Plex is even integration voice and gesture controls thanks to the Kinect. So get ready to sit back and bark at your Xbox to play movies for you. [Plex]
