Moto X And Other Motorola Phones Are Getting Android 5.0 Lollipop

Now that Android .5 Lollipop is finally officially coming soon, we get to play the fun game of finding out which existing Android devices will bet getting the update. First up, and maybe this is obvious, are the current Motorola phones.

According to Motorola, we can expect updates on the following phones:

Once Android 5.0 L is officially released, we intend to bring this latest upgrade to many of our other Motorola devices, as well. This includes Moto X (1st and 2nd Gen), Moto G (1st and 2nd Gen), Moto G with 4G LTE, Moto E, Droid Ultra, Droid Maxx and Droid Mini. We’re still working out the details on timing and the upgrade depends on our partners’ support so stay tuned to our software upgrades page for the latest and greatest.

Given Motorola’s close partnership with Google on the Nexus 6, this is altogether unsurprising. But we’ll keep you posted on what other phones might be getting the update as we learn more.
