The Alley Cats of Japan Look Pretty Badass

French photographer Alexander Bonnefoy recently traveled around Japan looking for felines. And boy did he find some pretty ones. He found some pretty scrappy ones, too!

The kitten-laden adventure took Bonnefoy from Okinawa to Hokkaido, down back alleys and up into trees. The alley cats he found ran the gamut of badassery as well. From the delicate ones with stunning looks to the battle-hardened boys with missing eyes, each is unique. And the photos are simply stunning.

Bonnefoy's complete collection of cat pictures in Japan are collected in a terrific book, Neko Land, that would make an excellent addition to any coffee table. Of course, you might want to drink green tea in honour of the setting. And adopt a stray cat, because every little cutie — even if she's slightly rough around the edges — deserves a good home.

This makes me sad. All those poor kittys with no one to look after them and no one to love them.

A funny video about why cats are evil

This reminds me on a trip to Japan I came across a tabby sitting on a low brick wall and I went to pat it. It swiped at me and growled and it was all mangy and it's eyes were gummed up with feline conjunctivitis , I had to remind my self not to touch stray animal as I wasn't in Australia any more that is rabies and amongst other disease free
