All this lonely robot wants is for someone to play with — but he doesn’t seem to have much luck. You’ll feel bad for the poor adorable robot until you see the film’s shocking final twist.
It starts off feeling a little like Wall-E. The robot, L3.0, moves around a deserted world going about its business and leaves paper aeroplane notes asking for friends. It doesn’t seem like it ever finds any until one day a butterfly comes into L3.0’s life. That’s when things start to turn. I feel weird for feeling bad for it now.
