    Lol telstra.com is 503'ing intermittently.

Opening 10 tabs and spamming refresh helps them fix it right?

I've been getting this since 2pm yesterday.

It's really annoying (and not a great ad for Telstra)

The customer gateway at my.telstra.com.au is having the same issues.

Ya. I always wonder why they don't isolate these things on a separate set of infrastructure so it doesn't bring everything down with it.

I mean I just want to log in and buy the latest flip phone.

Thinking about it likely solution is, offload the marketing spiel/plan info onto biggest and best CDN you can find. Host the form to buy it on separate architecture, collect all the details, basic client side validation, on submit push it into a message queuing sevice that servers can work through at pace suitable for them, and send and email once process.

If you can't fill out a form too bad so sad, you lose and have to do it again like 4 hours after the first time.

Weak spot will be the form but you'd keep it basic as to minimize the amount of hit one refresh puts on servers. Looking at the pages refreshes for current setup one refresh is like 50 server request images js, and css all told.

      Intermittently? Try every 2 seconds!

    iPhone 6 Plus Medium Plan
    16GB 86
    64GB 91
    128GB 95

    iPhone 6 Medium Plan
    16GB 81
    64GB 86

Decision to give up skinny jeans and get Plus or not...mmmm

That's what I'm still debating. And also whether I need 64GB. I'm so annoyed that they've dropped the 32GB option. Would have been nice if 32GB had replaced 16 as entry-level option, but Apple sure know how to suck you in!

Look at it this way. You are getting the 64gb for the price of the 32gb last year.

PS thnx. Haven't got that far yet lol. Good luck

how much is included in the medium plan for calls ?

It was always going to crash don't know what they expected. I managed to get a freshly cached version up and just ordered my phone :)

    done and dusted.

    77 p/m for 500mb data. ouch.

500mb of data on 4G is like 5 mins.

For $5 more you can have the medium plan which has 1.5Gb but what you are really looking for is the Large plan with 2.5Gb data.

On the medium & large plans, you can also get a free mobile after 12 months (new phone feeling will be on free on the $70 plan and above) plus 1Gb of extra data for the life of your contract. So it will be 2.5Gb on medium ($81) and 3.5Gb on large.

It will be interesting to see how they price large. If it's around $100 or so then it's definitely worth it. $77-100 is only $23 and your data has just increased by 3Gb, not to mention all the bonus calls. (yes some of us still use a phone to make calls)

Have they came up on telstra yet? I can't see them.

You won't see it on telstra.com.au until after 5pm

Anyone got prices on any plans where >1gig data?

You could just buy one outright and then it's $40 / month with Boost Mobile which runs on the Telstra 3G network. I don't think it runs 4G but I don't really want the download speed. 2G/month data and unlimited calls seems pretty good.
For the top iPhone 6 PLUS 128G that would be $1,249.00 + $40/ month (boost mobile) x 24 = $2209 total. Equivalent Telstra medium plan (1.5G data and ?$700 worth of calls) is $95/month x 24 = $2280 total. And you get a phone LOCKED to telstra's network.

Do you guys think this is a better plan or am I missing something?

Well, there is the bonus 1gb on the Telstra plan, which is useful, also the 4g as you mentioned, and the cost of the handset being amortised over the life of the plan instead of shelling out upfront. Sure you can save some money if that method suits you though.

Somehow managed to get my pre-order done. Only took an hour of refreshing!

Did you go round and round in circles with the pre-order, which then would send you to the pre-register and round and round?

Same, I got the Iphone 6 plus, It was sold out of nearly all colors and sizes. I ended up with a gold 64gb Plus.

      Same. Small fluke I think.

Funny thing was when I was doing mine and my partners, my partners worked fine as she got the Iphone 6. When I tried for the Plus it kept redirecting me to the Pre-register page, the only way I got to the pre-order page was by looking up something in google which to me straight to the "confirm my details page" which had conveniently selected the Medium plan. If I didn't do that I would of missed out.

I got the iPhone 6 Plus 128GB on a $70 plan., it's only an extra $4 compared to $55 plan and you get extra call allowance, data and New Phone Feeling chucked in.

So on any plan higher than $55 new phone feeling is free? So you get a new handset in a year?

That how I read it. I'm sure there's a massive organs catch somewhere....

All Telstra plans $70 and above come with free new phone feeling and either 1GB data or $1000 extra calls. It's not worth signing up on a $55 plan as the overall price difference once you add the apple iPhone repayments comes in the range of $4-$6 every month. So you can say that for an extra $4/month you get free new phone feeling ($10 standard price) and an extra 1.5 GB data!
