Watch A Remote Controlled, Battery Powered Toy Car Hit 315kph

OK, this is no toy, it’s a serious piece of technology. I’ve always wanted to build a real R/C car — not an off-the-shelf kit, something properly fast — but I don’t think anyone could build something up to the standards of Nic Case’s battery-powered monster.

The R/C Bullet hit 188.87mph back in March, and has been Guiness World Records certified at a (comparatively glacial) 171mph. This most recent run, uploaded to YouTube a few days ago by Case, shows the Bullet hitting a maximum Vmax of 196mph — that’s 315 kilometres per hour, the same top speed as the Ferrari F430 or an unrestricted BMW M6. Yikes.
