These Star Wars Metal Model Kits Not Only Look Great, But Are Easy To Build

So, you’ve mastered the art of building TIE fighters from bits of old floppy disks and are looking for a more artistic, yet still Star Wars-themed challenge? Vat19 has a set of four laser-etched metal model kits including R2-D2, an AT-AT and the Millennium Falcon for you to try your (hopefully well-calloused) hands at.

According to the product page, the kits are officially licensed, so you don’t have to worry about the accuracy of their reproduction. What you do have to concern yourself with is putting the blighters together. Fortunately, there’s no glue, soldering or duct tape required — all you have to do is snap out the pieces and slot them in their correct positions and bang! Well, that’s the hope anyway.

In terms of dimensions, the models range from around 5-10cm in width and height, with the Falcon being the chunkier of the options.

Each model is $US14.99 and because they’re flat kits, shipping from the US is a reasonable $US4.92 for the cheapest method, though the site says it’ll take anywhere from 15-30 days for your gear to arrive.

Below you’ll find images of all the kits in completed form, courtesy of Vat19:
