Nike’s Lunar Shoes Make You Feel Like You’re Walking On The Moon

Nike’s Lunar Shoes Make You Feel Like You’re Walking On The Moon

To celebrate the 45th anniversary of Neil Armstrong walking on the moon, Nike has made a pair of shoes that will make you feel like every step you take is on the moon. Because of the all over lunar print, the silhouette of the shoe completely disappears and makes it look like the shoe is made from moon rock.

The upper of the Nike Air Max Lunar90 is all reflective 3M lunar print (which means it will shine bright) and the midsole is nicely speckled. It’s certainly a fun way to celebrate an anniversary. Bodega, the Boston-based retail store where the shoes will launch, writes:

On July 20, 1969 Neil Armstrong made one small step for man, and one giant leap for man kind by being the first man to set foot on Earth’s moon. In commemoration for this historic event, Nike has released a special Air Max Lunar90 with all over 3M lunar (or moon) print accompanied by a speckled lunar sole. The right heel cup Nike logo is covered in red and white stripes while the left cup is covered in blue and white star print. This Lunar90 SP will be available this Sunday July 20th online at 8 a.m. EST and in store through raffle. Retail is $US145.00 USD.

Since most of us won’t ever walk on the moon, this might be the closest we’ll ever get.
