Touchscreens are fine for solving puzzles and flinging birds, but for action-based mobile games nothing will ever beat a physical controller in hand. The makers of the FC30, a Bluetooth controller that paid homage to the original Nintendo Famicom, are back with a new and improved wireless gamepad that now hearkens back to the NES.
As you can clearly see, the NES30 isn’t a perfect replica of the controllers that shipped with the US version of the Famicom back in the day, but that’s a good thing. The NES30 introduces two additional action buttons opposite the four-way control pad, plus a set of shoulder buttons on top. And since everything is programmable, you can configure it exactly how you want for your favourite iOS or Android game.
It works on Macs and PCs too if you’re running an emulator, and you can order one now for just shy of $US40, which is on par with what other Bluetooth controllers will cost you. Except those other options are lacking in the wonderful nostalgia the NES30 brings. [8Bitdo via Engadget via GBATemp]
