Google’s Getting Its Own Android-Powered Game Consoles

Google’s Getting Its Own Android-Powered Game Consoles

Forget the Ouya, there’s another Android game console in town, and it’s coming from two of the biggest players in town.

Razer, the folks behind the awesome Razer Blade and Junglecat controller, have teamed up with Google to create a “micro-console” that will run the new AndroidTV. It will work as a set-top box for TV shows and movies of course, but it will also play games. Details are scarce, but we know it will be controllable from an app that runs on any Android device. It’s kind of like a Fire TV, but sponsored by Google instead of Amazon.

Valuable specifics like price, availability, specs, and even its name are still a secret for the time being, so who knows how awesome this thing will actually be, but age of Google-blessed Android game consoles is here.
