Netflix: We Have No Plans For Australia…Yet

Rumours continue to swirl over the potential availability of Netflix in Australia, but the low-cost streaming service has told us today that it still has nothing scheduled.

We reached out to Netflix today to double-check whether the low-cost streaming service had plans to launch in Australia, and received this from their internal spokesperson:

No current plans to launch in Australia. We do want to be global, so one day we should be there, but we have no current Australia launch scheduled.

This denial follows intense speculation that Netflix would launch within 12 months in Australia, despite the fact that the streaming service already has around 200,000 users using VPN tunnels to obtain Netflix “illegally/”.

Netflix knows Australia exists, it just isn’t ready to move here yet.

In the meantime, here’s how to use VPN services to get access to Netflix in Australia.
