This Could Be The Largest Flying X-Wing Model Yet

At 1.5m in length, Rodger Cleye’s X-wing could be the largest flying Star Wars model to date. Except that since it’s built with a framework of PVC piping to keep it light, it’s the last thing the Rebels will ever want to take into battle.

Despite its size, this X-wing model weighs just 9kg thanks to its lightweight framework. And it’s kept aloft by a trio of 12-inch rotor blades powered by 1200W electric motors. It’s not exactly manoeuvrable, and it could never carry an astromech droid — let alone a pilot. Even given all that, I still like its odds against the original Death Star.
