Walking Dead Tribute Beer Is Made With Real Brains, Of Course

The folks at Dock Street Brewing Co. really love beer. They also apparently really love AMC’s The Walking Dead. Putting these two loves together was a no-brainer. Or wait. The exact opposite of that.

Yes, the Philadelphia brewery will celebrate the season finale of The Walking Dead with Dock Street Walker, a beer brewed with actual noggin parts. But don’t worry, they’re not human brains, they’re uh, smoked goat brains. There’s really no way I can explain this, so I’ll let Dock Street speak for themselves:

Dock Street Walker (7.2% ABV) is an American Pale Stout, brewed with substantial amounts of malted wheat, oats, and flaked barley for a smooth, creamy mouthfeel. Fuggle hops provide delicate, earthy notes, while the cranberries create a sinister, bloody hue, and a slight tartness. The pre-sparge-brain-addition provides the beer with intriguing, subtle smoke notes. In true walker fashion, don’t be surprised if its head doesn’t hang around forever.

The brainy brew debuts on March 30th with a screening of the Walking Dead season finale at the company’s West Philly pub. Finally, booze that boosts your brain cell count. [Dock Street via FoodBeast]
