LED-Covered Drone Traced This Neon Light-Graffiti Through The Sky

Light painting is awesome, whether you use your own two hands and a LED glowstick, or leave it up to a Roomba-like robot. But the folks at the production studio Fiction decided to take it up a notch by bring a makeshift UFO into the mix.

Like any good light painting, the photos are long exposures of a dancing LEDs. Except in this case, those LEDs were strapped to a DJI Phantom drone, inspired by the UFO from Close Encounters of the Third Kind. Of course that wasn’t all; it also took a little post-shoot Photoshopping to tease out the mirrored shapes we get in the final product.

It just goes to show that if and when the real aliens show up, we should set up some cameras before we run away.
