Yamaha’s New High-Tech Concept Store In WA Looks Absolutely Beautiful

Yamaha has a brand new concept store in Malaga, Western Australia, a few minutes from the centre of Perth. Operated by West Coast Hi-Fi, the Yamaha Sound Centre opened its doors on Saturday, and it looks utterly stunning. We’re used to fancy stores from the likes of Apple, Bose and Samsung, but Yamaha has come out of left field with this one.

Yamaha, West Coast Hi-Fi, and local government types were on hand for the ribbon cutting, with the crowd enjoying a performance from Yamaha artist Gossling. Coffee vans and ice cream trucks were on hand to fight the heat. Product managers for Yamaha’s entire line-up of speakers, audiovisual components, and musical instruments were on hand to answer customer questions.

The flagship range of AVENTAGE sound products — huge, powerful floorstanding speakers and award-winning A/V components — are on permanent display at the Sound Centre for customers to swoon over.

The store isn’t exclusively stacked with wallet-emptying equipment, though — Yamaha’s entire range of equipment, including affordable headphones and speakers, is on show. Yamaha’s general manager for its music division, Simon Goldsworthy, told Gizmodo that there’s no picking and choosing here:

Yamaha has a very broad range of product and the reality of modern retailing is that most dealers will take a good, better, best option if you are lucky from your range. The Yamaha Sound Centre concept is “On display, every model, every colour. Experience the difference”. So this means that a customer can go to a Yamaha Sound Centre, see and experience the full Yamaha story from a set of $29.95 in ear head phones to the top of the line AS/CDS3000 worth $16,498.

Bonus Yamaha plug: there’s a super-high-tech 300KM/h YZF-R1 on show as well.
