Forget Flight Simulator: someone made a full-on Eagle simulator for the Oculus Rift. Warning: you may throw up.
It’s called Ambient Flight, and it’s an early concept of a game that lets you simply fly around as an eagle.
The view you get from the perspective of an eagle is breathtaking as you tilt and soar around the landscape, and it’s amazing to see the quality of the landscape beneath you. Hopefully all the “levels” are that high-res when the game is released.
The developer of Ambient Flight did a Reddit Q&A yesterday, and revealed that work has already been done on prototyping an Ant-view app which lets you see the world from the perspective of a tiny insect.
“I have prototyped an Ant view demo, and its pretty cool and frightening walking up to a spider or a wasp the size of a house, so im sure there will be games developed that are insect based.”
Well that sounds terrifying.
