Snowblower Turns Fifth Ave Apple Store Glass Into Beautiful Painting

Snowblower Turns Fifth Ave Apple Store Glass Into Beautiful Painting

The Apple Store on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan? You know the one — it cost $US6.7 million to build. Yesterday, a snowblower smashed one of its 15 seamless glass panels, which created this beautiful cracked vignette of New York City. It looks like a painting.

Plenty of pictures of the smashed panel have been posted to Instagram and Twitter, and they’re all pretty awesome. The one above in particular almost looks like a work of art rather than a smashed storefront. In spite of the damage, the store will stay open, but the the facade is apparently going to cost Apple around $US450,000 to repair. Which would be more painful if they weren’t selling so many dadgum iPhones.
