Cheap International Calls For Vodafone Prepaid Customers

Vodafone has dropped the price of its prepaid international call rates in 12 countries: Bangladesh, Thailand, Lebanon, Indonesia, Egypt, Iraq, Nepal, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, Germany, Turkey and Jordan. In addition, prepaid customers will receive 250MB of data for all international recharges $20 and above from now until 3 March.

As the above table shows, the biggest drops are for Egypt and Iraq, with mobile-to-mobile calls falling from 80 cents per minute to 11 and 14 cents, respectively. Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka and Jordan also received significant drops of around 50 per cent.

All of the above prices compare favourably to rival telco Telstra, which currently charges between $1.50 and $5.00 per minute for international mobile calls.

Vodafone will continue to offer $1 capped calls to India, China, New Zealand (landline only), the UK (landline only), USA and Singapore when customers buy a recharge card for $10 or more. As mentioned, prepaid customers will also receive 250MB of data for all international recharges $20 and above from now until 3 March. The data lasts for 30 days after sign up.
