Zero Point Is The First 3D, 360 Degree Movie For The Oculus Rift

People have been working on video and explorable environments for the Oculus Rift, but Condition One, the immersive videography group, is upping the ante with a complete 20-30 minute movie all in 3D.

The film will be a sort of documentary about what’s going on in the virtual reality field right now. Condition One founder Danfung Dennis writes that it will include footage of combat training simulations at the Department of Defence, academic research labs, game developers and hackers. Virtual reality in virtual reality. See what they’re doin there?

Condition One is capitalising on its past development with wide fields of view and apps to prepare its 3D, 360 degree rendering engine for the movie. Personal 360 IMAX from anywhere? Yes. Let’s do this. [Condition One]
