8 Questions About Dell’s Cat Urine Recall

Do you own a Dell Latitude 643u ultrabook? Does your Dell Latitude 643u Ultrabook smell like cat urine? And do you, in fact, not own a cat? Well, then, we have some good news for you, friends. Dell has officially issued a recall for their recent fleet of cat pee computers, and it’s giving away the non-odoriferous replacement parts for free.

Users have been complaining since June about the apparently highly distinct bouquet of cat urine that’s been emanating from their machines. Now, Dell has investigated, determined that there was indeed a problem, and assured us that “the smell is not related to cat urine or any other type of biological contaminant, nor is it a health hazard.” So go ahead and replace your flavoured laptop for some unscented parts, but don’t think it ends here. Many questions remain, and the people need answers.

How do you tell the difference between the smell of cat urine and that of dogs, humans, rats, etc.?

How is that not one but apparently hundreds of individuals all separately discounted other animals to decide that, yes, this is indeed cat urine I’m smelling?

If the problem was related to manufacturing, why can’t Dell be any more specific?

Is it because their manufacturing facilities are actually overrun by incorrigible gangs of overly hydrated feral cats?

If not, then seriously, why can’t Dell be more specific?

How many of you Lattitude 643u owners have never even noticed that your laptops reek of cat urine?

And are you now concerned that this just means you yourself also reek of cat urine?

And lastly, seriously, how the hell did everyone decide that it was cat urine?
