Microsoft’s still being officially coy about what it’ll throw into the Surface Pro 2, but it appears that extra RAM and an improved kickstand will be amongst its new features.
Neowin reports that the the next Surface Pro should have a fourth generation (“Haswell”) Core i5 processor as well as doubling of RAM up to 8GB. That should lead to speedier performance, but more critically, much better battery life, which was the Surface Pro’s real achilles heel. Microsoft’s also said to be “refining” the kickstand, although it’s not clear what this actually means; I’d be happy with something that was just a little more comfortable to use on a lap.
