Twitter Redesigns Conversations To Help You Make Sense Of The Noise

Twitter is making a big design change to your Twitter feed to help you follow the fragmented conversations buried within. The new look works a bit like connect the dots between @replies.

The new change to Twitter.com as well as the service’s iOS and Android apps looks like this:

Twitter Redesigns Conversations To Help You Make Sense Of The Noise

Until now, if you saw a random @reply in your feed, you wouldn’t know what it’s about. Now, Twitter shows you the original tweet in a conversation directly before a reply and draws a line between them so that you understand that they’re related. It also shows you if there are more tweets in the chain so you can dig deep and get involved if you like.

Trying to harness the conversation makes a lot of sense. We’ll have to wait and see if this latest design change adds coherence — or just another layer of noise. [Twitter]
