Mana Bar Melbourne Might Live On With Your Help

Amazing what a day can do: this afternoon we’re learning that Mana Bar Melbourne is trying to save itself.

You may remember that just a few short hours ago, Mana Bar Melbourne confirmed it would be closing its doors for what it told us at the time would be “for good”. While it is closing its doors, the “for good” part is still in doubt as those working behind the scenes at the Melbourne Mana Bar try to save what they worked so hard to build.

Skai, Meg and Bonnie just posted this to Facebook:

It’s with great sadness that we have to say that yes it’s true, it is currently planned that Mana Bar Melbourne will close late September.

Venue size and debilitating license restrictions has finally gotten the best of us, we simply couldn’t support ourselves on day traffic alone since as soon as everyone was in the bar and having fun we aggravatingly had to kick you all out at 11.

Currently we’re looking at options for either continuing or at the very least finding a new home for our loyal amazing community who have been awesome since day one.

In fact from the 27th to the 31st of August we’re having a Save Your Mana event where we’re encouraging people to come into the bar and have a beer, show your support for the bar and staff and help us try and find a new home for our community that we all love so much!

We’re planning on having heaps of giveaways and specials so make sure to head on down during that week!

Much love and respect,
– Skai/Meg/Bonnie

Pictured are the Melbourne staff who attached the note to the Facebook post in the hopes of appealing to your sense of community.

At the very least you can party the last few days of the Melbourne Mana Bar away and score some free stuff, at best, the iconic gamer-bar lives on for a little while. Either way, go down to Fitzroy and drink responsibly with some gamer friends. [Facebook]
