Leaked Ad Reaffirms Google’s Rumoured New Nexus 7

A leak last week revealed details of Google’s new Nexus 7 tablet — and now freshly leaked press shots and a Best Buy ad reaffirm its existence. The @evleaks Twitter account has published a set of press images of the rumoured new tablet. It shows a few subtle tweaks to the existing design: gone are the dimples in favour of a new horizontal Nexus branding.

There’s also a new rear-facing camera, dual speakers and… a notification light.

The leaked Best Buy ad suggests that the slate will pack a 1920×1200 display into the 7-inch frame and pegs the 16GB version at $US230. It also states the tablet will be available from July 30.

Given the upcoming launch of Android 4.3, it seems likely the device could be the first to feature the new OS. Google is set to make an announcement on July 24 though — so it’s not long until we hear the facts straight from the horse’s mouth. [Evleaks, Phone Arena]
