It can’t be easy to build a car, but the factory where Teslas are born makes it looks like a piece of cake. The folks over at Wired took a look behind the scenes to watch rolls of aluminium transform into fully functional electric cars, and it’s a sight to behold.

Even though the process starts with the most basic materials, Tesla’s outfit can churn out vehicles like nobody’s business. We’re talking aluminium sheet to a drivable ride in as little as three days, so it shouldn’t be a surprise that the robots that do the majority of the (literal) heavy lifting are impressive as all hell. It’s like the Dyson factory, except 10 times as big.
Maybe there’s something to be said for cars you can assemble entirely by hand, but give me a giant robot arm any day. [Wired]
