Photographers often go to exotic locations to get that one perfect shot. It’s a constant search of trying to outdo yourself to capture something new. But you can go to the ends of the world and not outdo NASA astronaut Chris Cassidy. This shot from space is beautiful.
Cassidy, an Expedition 36 flight engineer, is captured here using a 400mm lens to photograph Earth from the ISS. He’s not photographing a supermodel in a bikini in Antarctica, or snapping innocents in war-torn Sudan, he’s taking a picture of Earth — which is 400km below him — from inside the Cupola observatory module on the ISS.
