What Is The Prettiest Gadget You Own?

Beautiful design isn't good design, and even the prettiest gadgets can still suck. But all that said, there's something to be said for devices that are just easy on the eyes, and if they're good too, that's a bonus. What's the prettiest gadget you've got hanging around?

Or, if you're living in a rubbish-heap or something, what's the prettiest one you aspire to someday own?

      Your wife is a gadget?!?

Hmmm... yeah my wife knows my sense of humour well after 25yrs and will no doubt give me a clip behind the ear and smile at the joke (if she finds out). However it does occur to me now that some people wouldn't understand this from the outside. I still think it's funny though :)

Probably my macbook air, there's something to be said about clean, minimalist design.

(It's definitely _not_ my Garmin 310XT. That thing is damn ugly...)

Interestingly, that's the same reason I love my Samsung Chromebook. Sure, from a physical perspective it's a macbook clone; a lot of commentators have knocked it for that reason, but frankly I don't see why that's such a bad thing. Clean, sleek, lightweight, silver, it's easy on the eyes but loses not one ounce of useability. Also, the chiclet style keyboard with lowercase lettering somehow makes it nicer to look at, as well as easier to use.

An iPhone 4. Yeah I know it's really just an apple branded paper weight these days, but back when it came out I remember thinking that it looked just how I imagined the future should look.

But today? Hopefully..... an HTC One ;-)

My Lumia 920, love the shape and feel of the recent Nokias.

At the moment probably my HTC One SV.

My Sony E Series Laptop, but I doubt it will stand the test of time compared to a boombox etc.

I want the #HTCOne for its: Beats Audio

I'm going to have to pick my Lumia 920 too

I'm also quite a fan of the look of the Boxee Box too, I have it sitting in a black cabinet and the way it looks as if it has popped out of it is really cool.

I'm a cyclist and have a pair of Ay-Up lights. Very bright and they're designed well, simple, but neat, but the best part?

The packaging. Call me an infant for wanting to play with the box, but it is the nicest industrial design I've ever had the pleasure of opening. The entire product is Australian made and owned, too.

Hmm, that's a bit of a boring one - hands down, the best phone in terms of design and build quality goes to the HTC Desire HD.

My red Nokia 808 Pureview. Absolutely gorgeous.

Or at least it was, until I ran along a footpath while spinning in circles for as long as I could, eventually teetering over and collapsing in a heap of laughter at having almost killed a bewildered Japanese man. Clever me didn't think to stop carrying it in my hand, did I? The wrist strap bore most of the brunt, but there's some case damage on the lower edge now. Then there was the other time where I thought I put it in my pocket but I was wearing my crappy pair of jeans and actually put it on the outside of the pocket instead... *sniff*.

    .....bahahahahaha. Yeah, sure.

I'd have to say my Surface RT would be mine, even when I have no need to use it and the tablet is sitting on my bench, I feel like I need to pick it up and use it. Isn't that the idea of great design, that you are drawn to it even when their was no initial desire in the first place?

Yes! I have the same thing with my ZuneHD - I just want to pick it up and play with it whenever I see it sitting on my desk and I often sit watching TV and fondling it.

Q acoustics 2050i speakers, beautiful buggers!

My stunning 27 inch iMac. Even after 3 years, it still looks incredible. The screen is stunning and gives me more than enough space to work on. I truly admire Apple's simplicity.

hmmm, strangely I'd say my NEX 3N camera. Purists will probably disagree but I lve the simple design and aesthetic and for its size it packs a punch.

I think my Nokia n9 in cyan is very pretty but my black one is very wow. In third place but not really a gadget is my BMC GF02 Disc bike.

    My PSP Vita, soooo sexy

This is sad but... iPhone 5. It's a rare case of form = function. Everything else I own is function > form, so is generally ugly. I have a rule of thumb, the uglier a product, the more likely it is to perform well, because more money is going to components and development than the enclosure.

My Fujifilm X100 camera. Sturdy, beautiful, and very "gadgety", with it hybrid viewfinder. Takes amazing pictures too!

My Nexus 10. I bought it just a week back and cant put it down. Its light and very comfortable to hold - Reading books/magazines on it is amazing. And the vanilla OS is so smooth. Only downside - I wish it had an AMOLED screen as I use it primarily as a media device - maybe in the next version?

It's got to be my Desire HD, It's a little old but the build quality, the design combined with the versatility Android gives in terms of aesthetics (custom launchers, widgets, skins etc ) makes it a winner

agreed. recently upgraded my phone but the DHD lives on as a dedicated satnav/ media player in my car... they're tough as guts, I used to open beers with it and everything. just wish I could replace the headphone jack!

My VAF ipod dock. sooo much pretty leather

I want the #HTCOne for its: Beats Audio

I don't own it, it is my girlfriend's, but her Microsoft Surface is a damn nice looking piece of hardware. It even feels good too. I actually find myself wishing I could get an Android version because it is a pity the app store is so sparse....

There are a few nice examples of engineering prowess around, but I recently bought a Braven 650 and that has a gorgeous industrial design to say the least, very clean.

My Ipod Nano 6G. Tiny, just does what it should do and that clip is far handier than you'd think.

My best looking gadget will be the HTCOne that I'm going to win!!!

has to be my Rollieflex TLR from the 50's it is without a doubt one of the most beautiful gadgets ever created and it still works!!!
