Fast fibre to the home is great news for those who have it, but the worst part is the data cap that goes with your plan. It’s like having a Ferrari in a school zone. AusBBS is here to save you, however, with Australia’s first unlimited data NBN plan.
There are a few different plans on offer, each ranging in speed.
$90 per month gets you unlimited downloads at 25Mbps down and 5Mbps up, $100 gets you 50/20 and $110 gets you 100/40. It’s definitely pricey, but if you’re a speed demon who wants data to burn, $110 might be right up your alley.
The plans carry a 24-month contract if you want free installation, otherwise you’re paying a $55 set-up fee for a 12-month contract.
Angus over at Lifehacker points out that the plan is pretty pricey, especially when you compare it with a provider like Exetel which offers 150GB of on-peak and off-peak data for $64.50. All depends on how much you value “unlimited” I guess. [Lifehacker]
