Asus Has A New Dual-Screen Taichi Convertible

The last Asus Taichi was pretty great. It had two 11.6-inch screens, one of them touch-enabled and situated on the lid. Now Taichi is back, and bigger than ever.

The new Taichi 31 is packing two 13.3-inch displays with a resolution 1920×1080 — again, one on the inside and a touch-enabled screen on the lid — as opposed to the 11.6-inch screens on the last Taichi.

Everything else is pretty much the same on the new Taichi: same option of either an Intel Ivy Bridge Core i5 or Core i7, 4GB of RAM and the option of either a 128GB/256GB SSD. The Taichi 31 weighs a little extra, however, tipping the scales at 1.56kg as opposed to the 1.25kg on the last Taichi.

The new Taichi 31 will be available in Australia from today. The Core i5 model will cost $1999, while the more powerful Core i7 model will cost $2399. You can pick it up from Harvey Norman, JB Hifi, Bing Lee, Dick Smith Electronics and The Good Guys.
