Christies is putting up a fossilised elephant bird egg up for auction as part of a general travel, science and nature auction to be held on the 24th of April. The elephant bird egg is expected to fetch between £23,000-34,000 (~$33,000-$49,000) which gets you a whole lot of (very dusty) elephant bird egg omelettes. Although, while it would undoubtedly pass the floating egg test, being fossilised and all, it still wouldn’t be wise.
