If you could do anything — anything — for a living what would it be? Well that’s dumb; it would be “looking at porn”. And though you may not be so lucky, someone working for China will be, boasting the prestigious title of Chief Porn Identification Officer.
China’s rampant censorship policy has an upside, it seems. While adult content on the country’s portion of the Internet is strictly controlled, it doesn’t mean it’s not posted. But it does mean that it all gets found by the Chief Porn Identification Officer sooner or later, and apparently his job is to whack it off… the internet.
Posted by security firm Anquan Lianmeng (that’s “League of Security”), the position pays the equivalent of $32,000 a year, with delightful perks including full insurance benefits and daily fruit and yogurt. Not to mention all the free — but mandatory — porn. League of Security reports that it got thousands of applications in the space of two days, many from outside the country, so the competition is understandably stiff. You probably couldn’t keep up.
