Wouldn’t you rather be in this pool, right now, until your whole body transforms into a shrivelled raisin? It’s not your eyes playing tricks on you, it’s a succulent plant-covered leisure centre in Amsterdam.
The centre is located in the middle of a park, so the architects — VenhoevenCS — built it to blend right in with its surroundings. Squint hard enough, and you might mistake the greenery-draped structure for a lush hill. There’s both an outdoor and indoor pool, the former of which looks like an aquatic Shangri-La, and the latter, a Scandinavian-style YMCA. Maybe if we close our eyes and click our heels together enough times, we’ll all magically be there, playing the Dutch version of Marco Polo.
