First, well, yes. It’s like cocaine. Basically, it makes it easier for us to experience pleasure. But it’s also key in protecting our young and relatives. That makes sense, since we’re created by an unbroken line of organisms going back to the very first life form. So we must have evolved to love our young pretty hard!
