Telstra Added A Bunch Of New Customers Last Year


Telstra is giving its half-yearly results presentation right now to all the finance guys out there, which means we get to find out how many customers it has now and how many 4G devices have been sold.

In the half-year to 31 December 2012, Telstra added 607,000 domestic mobile customers, bringing the customer base up to 14.4 million.

Meanwhile, Telstra said that the iPhone 5 is driving good mobile profits, with over 500,000 sold in the second half of 2012.

Telstra CEO David Thodey told analysts and customers at the results announcement that it
is on track to cover 66 per cent of the population with its 4G network by June this year, adding that the company has now sold 1.5 million 4G devices.

The company’s new chief financial officer, Andrew Penn, also revealed how much Telstra has made from the National Broadband Network so far. Check it out below.
