Evasi0n Jailbreak Unshackles Close To Seven Million iOS Devices

Earlier this week, the jailbreak tool to rule them all, evasi0n, was released. Since then, there have been close to seven million new jailbroken iOS devices. At least that’s what the creator of Cydia told Forbes.

The actual breakdown of those nearly seven million devices as of last night boils down to 5.15 million iPhones, 1.35 million iPads and 400,000 iPod touches.

A staggering number, sure, but on Tuesday, Jay Freeman aak Saurik, the guy behind Cydia, tweeted the below:

This also marks the longest it has taken to jailbreak Apple’s flagship iPhone at around 136 days. Previous jailbreaks for the iPhone varied from 98 days for the 4S to just 14 days for the 3GS.

While Freeman doesn’t have exact numbers for previous jailbreaks, he did say the evasi0n tool brought “insanely more new traffic” to Cydia than anything else. [Forbes]
