BlackBerry 10 Probably Won’t Be Getting A Native Instagram App

Sorry, BlackBerry 10 users. Looks like you’re going to miss out on a native Instagram app for the platform if a new report is to be believed.

AllThingsD has word from sources close to Instagram saying that the photo sharing app won’t get a native client for the OS that’s meant to save BlackBerry:

Sources close to Instagram tell AllThingsD that a native version of the photo-sharing application is not headed to BlackBerry 10 — not anytime soon, at least. “There will be no [native] Instagram for BB10 for now,” said one. “Frankly, I’m not sure there will ever be.”

The report goes on to say that the app might work as an Android port via the BlackBerry Android Emulator, but it’s still a pretty clunky way of doing things.

BlackBerry 10 has a great photos app that lets you throw a whole bunch of filters over your snaps, but you won’t be able to share those via Instagram on the platform. You can always access your account via web, I guess? [AllThingsD]
