Design is often about simplicity — and this little radio has that in spades. The brainchild of designer Ionna Vautrin, it blends old and new to create an adorable little gadget that would brighten up any room.
The dinky little device — named, appropriately, Mezzo — was designed by Vautrin for Lexon. It’s designed to be practical: small, simple, wireless and water resistant, it can be used anywhere around the home, including the bathroom. But you will probably want to show it off, because its sleek lines combine modern design aesthetic with retro styling cues to make it quite the head turner.
Available in blue, brown, red and green, the Mezzo radio is due to go on sale soon, though pricing is as yet unconfirmed. Another, similarly gutted radio in Lexon’s range — called Tykho — retails at around $US60 though, so expect it to be somewhere in that region. [Lexon via Leibal]
