The Crazy Cars Of CES 2013

The 2013 Consumer Electronics Show isn't just a place for smartphone cases and big TVs. No, instead it's about showcasing some of the coolest car tech ahead of the Detroit Motor Show. Here are some of the best cars on show at CES 2013.

The Lexus CT-200h gets some serious street cred with style and gadgets by Pioneer. Orange accents, lowered chassis and a sound system in the boot that looks more like a conventional weapon than a set of speakers.

The Audi R8 e-tron Quattro racer was on display in the harshest booth on the CES show floor. This thing is seriously impressive in person. Doesn't look very spacious, though.

Hyundai introduced a new concept car at the show that goes by the name of Blue. Sexy digital door displays, full touch dashboard and blue lights that make the whole thing look like a funky vodka bar? I'm in.

The evergreen Volt was on display, as well as a new plug-in version of the Barina Spark. No word on whether or not it's coming to Australia

Gymkhana master Ken Block kindly donated his Ford Focus for the show. Take a look at that sequential shift bar!

Sequential shift bar? I thought that was the handbrake

      x2

definitely the hydraulic handbrake...I have something very similar in my evo
that fiesta is shifted by flappy paddles...cannot wait to see it in action at clipsal this year!!!!!

What he said, definitely the hand brake. Then again, this IS Mr "I'll google my research" Hopewell. At it again I see.

Ken Block's car is at CES while the real rally drivers are all using theirs in Monte Carlo

The large Alloy lever in Ken's car is indeed the Hand Brake, a number of WRC cars still have a sequential shift lever nearby, just in case the electronics for the flappy paddles crap out, at least your still in the race.

Nope, current rules do not allow paddle shift. All WRC and S2000 cars are sequential shift only

Hyundai Blue bonnet emblem and design appears a direct ripoff from Aston Martin

That's the first thing I thought too

THAT'S a Hyundai? That looks incredible, and a lot like the Aston Martin badge which is why I had to do some extra Googling.
