There’s something about secret doors that makes my spine tingle. The excitement! The mystery! But most secret doors are on the inside of a house — pull that book to reveal a hidden chamber! push that wall through! — this one, amazingly, is on the outside. It’s so good you don’t even see it.
Here was what was used to build the secret door:
- Exterior door
- Red cedar
- HardiPlank Siding
- Morning Industry Keypad and Remote Deadbolt
- Ball Catch
- Cabinet hinges
- Hose bib (for the exterior door handle)
- Dummy knob (for interior door handle)
Sounds so simple to make! The door opens either through remote or by inputting the code on the hidden keypad. I’m going to make a door like this in my future home. [YouTube via BoingBoing]
