D-Link’s SharePort Go 2 Is A Feature-Packed Pocket Router

This teeny portable router from D-Link is everything a human holed up in a hotel room could dream of: Wi-Fi hotspot, emergency battery and wireless media sharer, all rolled into one.

The device can take a single Ethernet connection — like you’d find in your hotel room — and turn it into an instant Wi-Fi hotspot to share between devices. Pay for one internet connection, and let a whole team use it. Great. But what’s also nice is that there’s a USB port which supports third-party 3G and 4G USB modems — to create a hotspot on the move.

Elsewhere, its SD card reader allows it to act as a media hub from which you can share files, and its 4000 mAh battery allows it up to 8 hours of continuous operation. In a pinch, you can also use the USB port to charge devices from that same battery too. All told, it’s a jack-of-all-trades, and a pretty handy pocket companion for people on the road. The SharePort Go 2 will be available in April for $US120.
