The Single Largest Star Wars Toy Collection You Will Ever See Is Now On eBay

Believe it or not, this screenshot shows just one of four shelves of Star Wars figurines currently up on eBay. In total, 1950 toys are being sold to the highest bidder, their minimum value appraised at a healthy $US8200. It represents 85 per cent of all figurines documented in Star Wars: The Ultimate Action Figure Collection, so if you’re looking to start a collection from scratch, this would give you an immense head start.

True collectors will feel miffed that the figurines aren’t in their original packaging, though the page mentions that each one was placed in a locked display case after being freed from its plastic, carbonite-like prison and are in “very good to excellent condition”. Even with these protective measures, not all of the accessories have survived the decades, though the “vast majority” are included.

The auction page includes a complete listing of all the figurines. I was considering replicating it here, but it’s, well, stupidly long. Anyway, what you want to look at are the photos of the collection.

If you ever wanted to swim around in a Scrooge McDuck-like vault with the hard plastic appendages of your favourite Star Wars characters caressing your skin, here’s your chance.
